KURRAM: A delegation of parliamentarians and religious leaders visited Kurram district on Thursday to oversee efforts for restoring lasting peace in the district.

The delegation comprised MNA Shehryar Afridi, MNA Maulana Nasim Ali Shah, MNA Yousaf Khan, parliamentary leader of Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen Engineer Hameed Hussain, chief of Sunni Supreme Council Sahibzada Hamid Raza and chief of Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, general secretary MWM Nasir Abbas Sherazi, Commissioner Kohat Mutasim Billah Shah and Deputy Commissioner Kurram Javedullah Mahsud.

The delegation held meetings with the elders of Tori Bangash tribe and Boshehra tribe and reviewed efforts for restoring lasting peace in the district.

It was decided on the occasion that a 30-member committee would be formed for resolution of land disputes in the area.
