KARACHI, March 27: Two container ships were berthed at QICT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday. Meanwhile, one more ship carrying edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy fell to 56 per cent as six ships, Camilla Rickemers, Maersk Itea, Dymphna, Bulk Canada, Diler-4 and Cos Joy, were busy in loading and unloading containers, seeds, fertilizer and coke.

A cargo volume of 67,181 tons comprising 40,406 tons of import and 26,775 tons of export tonnage was handled. Sailing was active as Camilla Rickemers and Bulk Canada left the port while Maersk Itea and Dymphna were due to depart.

Two ships, Samho Cygnus and Islamabad, were expected to take berths at MPT while another container ship, Nedllyd Mascut, was due to arrive on Monday.
