GUJRAT: A restaurant in Hafizabad was sealed after a civil judge and his wife were injured when its elevator collapsed on Saturday.

Rescue 1122 said when the elevator of the eatery near the district courts collapsed, Civil Judge Sajid Bilal and his wife Rabiya Jalal were in it. As a result of the fall, both legs of the judge were fractured while his wife also received injuries. The couple was shifted to the Hafizabad Trauma Centre by the rescue officials.

The injured judge was posted in Faisalabad and he belongs to nearby village of Nidala.

The local administration sealed the restaurant soon after the incident.

ARRESTED: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a human trafficker from Gujranwala.

A spokesman for the agency said the suspect, Tahir Rasheed, was involved in illegal immigration of people to Europe and they had received complaints against him.

The suspect had received Rs2.9m from citizen to send him to Spain through illegal means. The FIA arrested him in a raid.
