LENGTHY QUEUES

LENGTHY QUEUES: The entire area covering the Bolan Medical College (BMC), its nine hostels, doctors’ colony and other houses has been provided with only one ATM that is located in the attached hospital. This creates significant and unnecessary problems as people from the surrounding areas also come to the same ATM. This results in a long queue of people waiting to use the ATM. And when the said ATM goes out of service, people are compelled to either go to Hazara Town 2.5km away or to the Golimar Chowk, which is another half-a-km farther.

The relevant authorities should look into the matter and install another ATM in the vicinity on an urgent basis.

MORE SCHOLARSHIPS: By their very nature, scholarships are designed to facilitate students’ learning. However, they have remained limited to those studying in the conventional streams. For instance, students of seminaries have remained deprived on this count. They are not awarded any type of government scholarship or financial support. Indeed, they are also learners. The government should also consider scholarships for such students. Most of them are eligible and need support to continue the process.

INTERNET SHUTDOWN: Internet shutdowns during religious or cultural events restrict access to vital communication channels, disrupt businesses, hinder educational activities, and impede the ability of individuals to freely express and exchange ideas. In today’s interconnected world, access to the internet is crucial for staying informed, conducting business, and maintaining social connections. Any interruption to internet services undermines these essential activities and infringes upon the rights of citizens to access information freely. While security concerns are undoubtedly important, it is essential that measures taken to ensure public safety do not come at the expense of basic rights and freedoms.
