LAHORE: Stage, TV and film actor Sardar Kamal passed away here on Tuesday.

He suffered a heart attack and he was taken to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology but he could not survive. He would be laid to rest in his native city of Faisalabad.

Muhammad Sardar, known as Sardar Kamal, was born in Faisalabad. He didn’t get a formal education beyond early school level. He worked in a textile factory in his early life before shifting to stand-up comedy.

He started his career as an actor in theatre. He acted in Punjabi movies like Choorian, Majajan and Channa Sachi Muchi besides Urdu movie like Diwane Tere Pyar Kay. He has also worked in Pak-India co-productions. His famous theatre plays included Janam Janam Ki Maili Chadar.
