KOHAT:An official of District Security Branch (DSB) was gunned down by unknown assailants near Al Moiz CNG station on Hangu Road, here on Saturday.

According to police officials, the DSB employee Muhammad Asif Khan was on his way to home in Muhammad Zai area when two unidentified assailants opened fire at him, killing him on the spot. His dead body was taken to KDA Teaching Hospital for conducting the post-mortem

The police registered an FIR under section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code against the unknown killers and started investigation. The deceased family sources said that he had no enmity with anyone.

Meanwhile, the commissioner and deputy commissioner of Kohat have been transferred on Saturday. Commissioner Abid Khan spent a short time in Kohat and was posted as commissioner Bannu division.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Azmat Ullah Wazir was asked to report to establishment division for further posting. Syed Mohtasim Billah Shahand and Abdul Kalam have been appointed as Kohat’s new commissioner and deputy commissioner respectively.

Moreover, Muttahida Ulema Council Kohat division expressed grave concern and sorrow over the Bannu incident and demanded judicial inquiry against the elements that instigated people in the rally to resort to firing in the air.
