PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has said the provincial government wants to establish solar panels manufacturing industry to make use of abundant mineral resources, needed for the production of solar panels and batteries.
During a meeting with a delegation of Chinese investment company, the chief minister said, the provincial government would encourage Chinese investment in this regard; read an official statement, issued from the chief minister’s secretariat on Sunday.
The statement said that the delegation discussed the various matters with the chief minister about investment in the different sectors of the province.
The Chinese delegation expressed their willingness to invest in the industrial and mineral sectors of the province, adding that the company would submit its viable proposals within a week.
The chief minister directed the authorities concerned to attentively examine the proposals, to be submitted by the company, and come up with an action plan for further progress, the statement read.
While highlighting the extensive investment opportunities in the different potential sectors of the province, Mr Gandapur offered the delegation investment in agriculture, livestock, solar energy and other important sectors, and said that the provincial government would not only encourage foreign investment but also provide all possible facilities to the investors.
The chief minister maintained that the provincial government was also working on the solarisation projects, under which government offices, educational institutions and deserving households would be provided with solar energy.
Special Assistant to Chief Minister for industries Abdul Karim and senior officials of departments concerned were also present on the occasion, the statement concluded.
