TAXILA: Police on Saturday arrested a man who allegedly kisnapped a ten-year-old girl in the limits of Wah Saddar police station, the police spokesman said.

According to the police, the suspect identified allegedly abducted the 10-year-old girl who resides in his neighbourer.

Later, police through human and digital intelligence traced the girl and safely recovered her. During interrogation, he confessed to hiaving abducted the girl. Police have registered a case against him and sent him behind bars.

Two drugs peddlers jailed

Two drug peddlers were sentenced to different terms by different courts in Attock on Saturday, police spokesman said.

In the first case, additional sessions judge Pindigheb Qammar Zaman, special court for the Control of Narcotic Substances (CNS) sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment besides imposing a fine of Rs25,000 on a drug peddler identified as Muhammad Ramzan.

Moreover, a special court for the Control of Narcotic Substances (CNS) in Jand sentenced a drug peddler to nine years’ imprisonment besides imposing fine of Rs80,000.

Man commits suicide

A 48-year-old man committed suicide by shooting himself in head in Khuda village in the limits of Hassanabdal police station on Saturday,

According to police sources, Nazakat Ali was in distress due to economic and financial issues.

On Saturday morning, he closed himself in a room and shot himself with a pistol. Later, his body was handed over for burial after autopsy at tehsil headquarters hospital (THQ).
