MIRAMSHAH, March 23: Pakistan Day was celebrated across North Waziristan on Thursday to highlight the significance of the day and pay tribute to national heroes. To mark the day, the entire agency was adorned with national flags, banners and buntings.

Declamation and poetry contests were held in various schools. Students sang national songs on the occasion.

Political Agent Haji Syed Zahirul Islam Shah was chief guest at the main function. He gave away prizes to winners.

The administration and army distributed edibles, medicines and sports goods among tribesmen. Also, a free medical camp was held in the headquarters hospital.—APP
