KARACHI, March 23: The commitment made in “Pakistan Resolution“ on March 23, 1940 even after 66 years remains to be honoured as during this period rulers plundered national exchequer and poor became poorer and rich, richer. These views were expressed by chief of Binoria University International while addressing a function held at the university in connection with Pakistan Day resolution.
Demanding setting up of a government in accordance with the the “Pakistan Resolution”, Mufti Naeem appealed to the people not to ever cast their votes in future to bottomless political leaders who forget them after coming to power.
He stated that it was promised in the “Pakistan Resolution” that there would be an Islamic government in Pakistan which would be ruled in accordance with the principles of the Holy Quran and the people would have equal political, social and economical rights.
Mufti Naeem regretted that in Pakistan everything was topsy-turvy in open violation of the resolution.
CONFERENCE: The “Pakistan Resolution” of March 23, 1940 was aimed at creation of a country where Muslims could practice Islam in its true spirit.
This was observed by speakers at a conference held on “Ideology of Pakistan Resolution” in Korangi to commemorate Pakistan Day by Awami Himayat Tehreek. In his presidential address, the Tehreek Chairman, Maulvi Iqbal Haider, regretted that practically the spirit of the resolution was missing in our daily life. “Let us pledge again to revive Pakistan ideology and practice Islam in its true spirit in our lives”, he added.
He also stressed the need for adoption of a strategy so that in future no Salman Rushdi or cartoonist could dare committing blasphemy.
