SWABI: The body of a 20-year-old woman,who was killed by unidentified persons, was found near Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway here on Wednesday, police said.

Tordher police station SHO Munsif Khan said that locals informed police about the dead body.

“She was brutally murdered by unidentified culprits and thrown in the wasteland,” he said, adding that pictures of dead body were shared on social media that helped in her identification.

The police official said that the murdered young woman belonged to Kohat city, a health worker, and married to a driver of excise department.

Police registered an FIR against unidentified accused.

POWER THEFT: Chota Lahor tehsil SDO of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) took action against power theft and cut the illegal electricity connections of many consumers in Manki region on Wednesday.

Pesco officials said that they visited various areas of Manki with police party, and cut off several illegal electricity connections, linked directly with the main supply line. They said that the people involved in the crime were fined and FIRs were also registered against them by police.

CAMP: Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) launched here on Wednesday an Advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) boot camp, focusing on deep neural networks in collaboration with Sky Electric.

The opening ceremony of the boot camp was graced by Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid,rector of GIKI, andAshar Aziz, chairman of Sky Electric, Inc. The speakers underscored the importance of this initiative in the context of global technological advancements.

The boot camp will continue till 30th August, aiming at imparting knowledge and skill to fresh graduates in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines from across the country.

The organisers said that the objective of the boot camp was to enable graduates to become internationally competitive in AI through eight weeks of extensive hands-on training under the mentorship of industry leaders and AI experts.
