TOBA TEK SINGH: A man was arrested on Tuesday for fracturing the legs of a donkey in Jhang district within the jurisdiction of Kot Shakir police.

According to the FIR registered under section 429 of the PPC, constable Naqeebul Haq stated that upon receiving information, he arrived at the scene to find a donkey belonging to shoemaker Mumtaz in serious condition.

The donkey had been tortured by farmer Sarfraz Mallah, after it entered his crops.

PROTEST: Scores of people from Jaranwala’s Bachiana area blocked traffic on Tuesday on Jaranwala-Nanka Sahib Road by burning tyres in protest against the suspension of electricity supply to their locality for the last three days.

They told reporters that whenever they tried to contact the Jaranwala executive engineer or sub-division officer, their calls were not answered.

Later, police officials held talks with the protesters and assured them that Fesco authorities would be informed of their issue for an early resolution, after which they ended their protest.

ACCIDENT: A rider died and four others were injured when a bus ran over three motorcycles near Adda Jhol on Sheikhupura Road in Faisalabad on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Haider Ali, 52, while the four injured, who were shifted to Allied Hospital, included Misbah Shaukat, Waqas, Ashraf and Tayyab.
