DADU: Taluka administration officials sealed 12 of the 24 illegal LPG shops, which they had shut down earlier in the wake of Paretabad gas blast tragedy, during raids in different parts of Sehwan on Tuesday.

Assistant Commissioner Mohammad Ali Gopang led a joint team of officials of different departments, which conducted the raids and sealed the 12 LPG shops. These shops were among the 24 they had sealed earlier but the shops reopened after three days.

The town residents held a protest in Sehwan and alleged that no genuine action had been taken against owners of LPG shops.

They demanded the administration should protect citizens by taking legal action against the LPG shops instead of waiting for occurrence of an untoward incident.
