VEHARI, March 20: Unidentified thieves took away around Rs20 million in cash and gold jewellery from UBL Imambargah Road branch in Burewala on Sunday night.

The theft surfaced on Monday morning when the staff came to duty. They found the locks of safe broken and cash and gold ornaments missing. On initial counting more than Rs20 million were found missing. The quantity of stolen gold ornaments could not be ascertained.

They informed the city police about the incident. According to police, bank guard Rab Nawaz was absent from duty on Monday and his residence was locked. The guard was employed by a private company.
