SARGODHA: The Special Anti-Terrorism Court judge in Sargodha acquitted Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf former MNA Amjad Ali Khan Niazi and 59 other activists of charges in two cases registered at Mianwali city police station.

A total of 60 PTI activists were acquitted in the two cases.

PROTEST: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Umar Ayub and his lawyer, Babar Awan, were barred from entering the anti-terrorism court in Sargodha on Monday to seek remedy in cases registered against him.

Mr Ayub alleged that the present regime is cracking down on PTI leaders and workers and using the police as personal servants.

He vowed to protest in the National Assembly and file a writ in court.

ATTACK: Unidentified gunmen shot at and injured a man at the entrance of Bhalwal tehsil courts on Monday and fled.

Ghulam Haider was shot in the leg and is receiving medical treatment at Bhalwal Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

The police said they were investigating the incident and collecting evidence.

MINISTER: Minister for Communication and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth visited the house of children with special needs in Sargodha who had made a portrait of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

The minister handed over a cheque for Rs100,000 to each special student and appreciated their talent.
