SARGODHA: Foolproof security arrangements were made in Sargodha to ensure the safety of Christian communities, including Mujahid Colony, during church prayers on Sunday. Police officers and personnel were put on high alert. The police were ordered to remain vigilant and perform their duties diligently. The security measures were taken in view of the protests by Tehreek-i-Labaik Pakistan, which demanded the release of innocent people and action against desecration of the Holy Quran. The protest rally started from Circuit House and ended at Noori Gate.

BLIND CASE: The police have arrested the wife and acquaintance of a young man who was murdered in Sargodha. Deceased’s wife Umbreen Bibi and her acquaintance Salim have confessed to the crime. According to the police, the duo murdered Saddam and dumped the body in a canal. The forensic and crime scene unit recovered the body and conducted a post-mortem, which revealed that the death was a result of murder. The case has been amended to include murder charges against the wife and her acquaintance.
