ROAD REPAIRS

ROAD REPAIRS: The stretch of road leading from the National Stadium towards Gulistan-i-Jauhar has two major clusters of potholes, posing inconvenience to the commuters using the route. The indifferent attitude of the relevant authorities is pathetic. Despite numerous complaints lodged officially, there has been no change on the ground position. The authorities should initiate repair work on the road.

A GROWING CONCERN: Hyderabad is the largest division in Sindh, and is home to millions of people, including students. Currently, there is only one library catering to the educational needs of thousands of students. The Allama Daudpota Library in Hyderabad seems to have run out of capacity as well as facilities to accommodate the growing number of students. The local authorities need to find a solution.

MOB JUSTICE: Whether it is the Christian community under attack or a thief caught by an angry mob in Karachi, the practice of mob justice and lynching seems to have become entrenched in our lifestyle. There could be many a root cause at play during such incidents, but it is the weakness of the law for sure that has encouraged such acts in public. The state and its organs need to establish their writ to wipe out this menace once and for all.

GHOST PARAMEDICS: While ghost teachers often earn the condemnation of the masses, and rightly so, it is surprising that not many people talk about the doctors and paramedics in rural areas who fall in the same category. The government-run health facility in Dokri taluka of Larkana district is one such centre where the designated medical officer remains absent, but draws his monthly salary regularly. Will the provincial health department come to the rescue of the people of Dokri?
