THE WAIT CONTINUES: It has been two months now that about 600 hapless candidates have been waiting to get their joining letters after being selected as town officer. Despite the recommendations issued by the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC), the relevant office has failed to act responsibly and issue the letters to those selected. The wait has been haunting the applicants, but there is no word on the matter coming from the relevant office. The provincial government should intervene to resolve the issue.

BUS STAND BLUES: M.A. Jinnah Road is one of the main arteries in Karachi which connects Taj Medical Complex with Corridor 3, also known as Katrak Road. However, the inter-city bus stand at the place has been a grave concern for area residents and commuters for long as giant-sized buses keep the road clogged for traffic. The relevant authorities should look into this matter urgently.

PENDING CASES: In search of avenues to generate revenue, the provincial government rightly decided to issue number plates of choice to the ones who wish to purchase gold, silver or platinum number plates. However, the government would do well to first do something about the number plates that have not been issued yet. I have been waiting to be issued the number plates for my two vehicles (Registration Nos. BH-1001 and BH-9999) since 2019. Clearing the pending cases first would be a logical step.

SUSTAINABLE TOURISM: Moola Chotok has been in the spotlight as a tourist and picnic point in Wadh tehsil of Khuzdar district. The spot has been attracting visitors from across the country. This ‘tourism’ has converted the rather serene spot into a massive plastic dump. The visitors should have all the fun they want to have, but what is the point of spoiling the fun for others?
