Atif helps PU capture trophy

LAHORE, March 16: Four-goal Atif Baig helped Punjab University (PU) win Inter-varsity hockey championship, beating Agricultural University, Faisalabad, 7-1 on Thursday.

Atif scored in the 1st, 13th, 16th and the 27th minutes. Bilal Ahmad (16th minute), Rashad Ali (24th minute), Furqan Aziz (52nd minute) were other scorers.

Arslan scored the solitary goal for the losers in the 41st minute.

Sindh University defeated Bahria University, Islamabad, 7-5 on penalty strokes in the third place playoff. The two teams were locked at 3-3 during regulation time.
