ISLAMABAD, March 16: A police investigation into the murder of a barrister has revealed that he was shot dead by a girl he had allegedly raped. Police have arrested the killers of Arshad Sheikh, 45, a resident of Asghar Mall Chowk. His body was found some two kilometres away from Daman-i-Koh picnic point on January 23, a day after he was murdered.

During investigation, the accused revealed that she and one of her friends had prepared the plot to kill the barrister.

She said she met Mr Sheikh at Commercial Market in December after which they started telephonic conversations.

One day, the barrister invited her to a dinner in Sadder and raped her in a garage at Asghar Mall Chowk, she said.

She said she narrated the incident to one of her friends, Nasir Afridi, who agreed to help her in eliminating the man.

After arranging a pistol through Mr Afridi, she called Mr Sheikh and asked him to pick them up from F-10 for an outing and dinner. They went to the Capital View in Daman-i-Koh in the barrister’s car (AC-5707).

While returning from the picnic, she told Mr Sheikh to stop the car at a green area near the picnic point, saying that she had to attend the call of nature. When she went out, Mr Afridi pulled the barrister out of the car and shot him twice in the head, killing him on the spot.

They took the car to the parking area of the picnic point and abandoned it there. Later, they hired a taxi for Gulshan-i- Hadeed, Rawalpindi.

The next day, she paid Rs300 to a taxi driver in Super Market to bring the car from the picnic point and parked it in front of a bookshop in the market.
