Urea imports: TCP version

Published March 17, 2006

KARACHI, March 16: With reference to a news item published in Dawn’s Thursday issue under the headline ”Urea Contractor Fails To Meet Supply Deadline,” a TCP spokesman has clarified that the TCP Chairman has been mis-quoted or quoted out of context in the report. He, for example, did not use the words “we issued tender No. 01/06 when the Agriculture Ministry insisted that urea was still needed in the country,” while talking to the correspondent. Similarly, “terms and conditions of bids are not changed on the directions of (federal) government,” as reported.
