QUETTA: A Pakistan Army major embraced martyrdom in an operation conducted by security forces in the Sambaza area of Zhob district near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on Tuesday night, the military said.

According to the ISPR, three terrorists were gunned down during the intelligence-based operation in the area.

During the operation, the military said, the troops effectively engaged the terrorists, as a result of which three were killed. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered, it added.

However, during the intense exchange of fire, leading his troops from the front, Major Babar Khan, 33, a resident of Mianwali district, embraced Shahadat. “Sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist present in the area,” the ISPR said.
