RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on Tuesday said that political parties should join hands for the sake of the country and offered to play as a bridge between them for stability and cooperation in Punjab.

He stated this after visiting Golra Sharif shrine and Bari Imam to offer Fateha. Pir Syed Nizamuddin Jami Geelani, the Sajada Nasheen of Darbar Aliya Golra Sharif, welcomed Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan.

Governor Punjab said that the nation reels under inflation and terrorism, but to face all these challenges we have to unite and take the country on the path of development with mutual trust and tolerance.

He said they should make efforts for the survival and development of this country keeping all our political, religious and social affiliations aside.

He said the situation in Azad Kashmir is unfortunate, but the government has accepted all demands of the protesters, after which law and order should be restored.

The Punjab governor while talking to the media said that the spiritual personalities have always taught the lesson of peace and brotherhood due to which patience and tolerance exist in our societies.

He said that those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country are the real heroes and every Pakistani is proud of their martyrs.

He said that the soldiers of Pakistan protect the borders of the country even in the dark of night and are always ready to sacrifice their lives and ‘we pay our respects to all of them’.

He said that he assures his armed forces that the people of Pakistan stand beside them.

Governor Punjab said Rawalpindi division is also the land of saints like every part of the country and due to these great personalities, Islam has spread in this country promoting peace and brotherhood in the society.
