KHANEWAL, March 15: Some 461 homeless families will get free five-marla plots under a scheme announced by the chief minister in Kabirwala and Mian Channu tehsils of the district.

“Moreover, some 115 landless growers will also get allotment certificates for 12.5 acres land each in the near future,” said Punjab Minister for Literacy Husain Jehanian Gardezi in a meeting at the DCO office.

As many as 237 families in Mian Channu and 224 in Kabirwala tehsil would be allotted plots in the allocated land with basic facilities like water supply, electricity and roads.

The meeting was told that homeless families would get plots on Kukar Hatta Road and Karampur Joota in Kabirwala, and along the Tulamba Road bypass and Chak 128/15-L in Mian Channu.—APP
