KARACHI: Corps Commander Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar has conferred military awards on over three dozen army personnel for their acts of gallantry and meritorious services.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, an investiture ceremony of the Karachi corps was held in Karachi in which awards of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (military), Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (military), and Tamgha-i-Basalat were conferred on army officers and soldiers.

A large number of military officials and families of army personnel who received the awards attended the ceremony.

It said that next of Kin of nine martyred soldiers received Tamgha-i-Basalat.

As many as 14 officers were awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz (military) and 19 officers got Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (military) for rendering meritorious services to the nation, it added.

The corps commander also interacted with the families of army martyrs and paid rich tribute to their sacrifices.
