KOHAT: The elders of Thall and Daoba tehsils of Hangu districts have expressed concerns over tribal disputes, saying that jirga is a suitable platform to resolve enmities and feuds.

They were addressing a jirga held under the auspices of Thall Scouts. They showed concerns over recent killings in a dispute between Wazir and Doaba tribes. They stressed the need for resolving local disputes through jirga.

Officials said that issues between individuals should not turned into tribal disputes. They said that all tribes must work collectively for peace. Thall Scouts Comandan Sakhawat, the district police officer, Mohammnad Khalid and Maj Adil called upon the elders from Thall, Naryab, Doaba, Tora Warai and Karbogha that the enemies were busy in conspiracies to disrupt peace in the country. They said that the nefarious designs of enemies should be foiled.

Deputy Commissioner Hider Hussain and DPO said that administration should be approached for resolution of mutual disputes instead of taking law into hands.

Officials said that cooperation of elders was indispensable for maintenance of law and order and peace in the region.

Malik Abdul Waheed, Malik Sanaulah Khan, Malik Hassan, Lala Marjan, Malik Daulat and Mian Akhtar assured the administration of their cooperation.
