KASUR: A headmaster and a teacher were suspended on Monday for beating a student at Government Elementary School of Bhadian in the jurisdiction of Pattoki police.

The teacher purportedly fractured the arm of a minor student.

According to police reports, teacher Tahira Bibi beat student Muhammad Ahmed after he allegedly passed a chair from the classroom to another teacher.

Education Chief Executive Officer Nadeem Ahmed Anwar suspended Headmaster Zaheer Khan and teacher Tahira, initiating an inquiry into the matter.

This is the second case of reported corporal punishment in public schools in Pattoki, the constituency of Provincial Minister for Education Rana Skindar Hayat.

Previously, a schoolteacher was filmed beating primary section students at Government School of Purani Mandi. The social media video forced the minister to take action.
