Four die on road

MANDI BAHAUDDIN, March 14: A collision between a Hiace and a truck claimed four lives and left seven injured on Tuesday afternoon. The Bherowal-bound wagon (LXK 8704) collided head-on with the truck (AJKD 3111) as a result of which wagon driver Sikandar Hayat, conductor Irfan and a woman passenger, Sajida, died on the spot, while Ghulam Abbas succumbed to his injuries at the Phalia THQ Hospital.

The injured passengers include Irfan, Wasim Ahmad, Shahid Husain and Abdur Rahman.

WOUNDED: Two robbers shot at and wounded the elder brother of finance deputy secretary Tariq Mahmood Khan on Monday night.

Khalid Khan was on his way home from his poultry farm when the robbers intercepted him near Tariqabad. They were frisking him at gunpoint when a vehicle reached there and the robbers became panicked. They shot at and wounded Khalid before fleeing. — Correspondent
