QUETTA/DERA BUGTI/DERA MURAD JAMALI: Four people were killed across Balochistan in different incidents on Saturday.

An armed clash between two tribal groups claimed two lives in Dera Bugti. According to the Levies, the clash started over a land dispute.

“Two groups suddenly started firing at each other with automatic weapons on the outskirts of Dera Bugti town,” a Levies official said.

“The Levies force successfully persuaded the feuding parties to cease fire.”

Quetta clash

In Quetta, an armed man was killed in a heavy exchange of fire with police in Shalkot area.

According to police, “unknown armed men” riding motorcycles opened fire at a patrol party. The police squad returned fire and in the heavy exchange of fire, one of the assailants was killed, police said. The others escaped and took refuge in a house nearby.

“The Police besieged the house and called in more force from nearby stations.”

Cylinder blast

In Dera Murad Jamali, gas cylinder of a car blew up at a CNG station, causing the death one person and injuries to four others.

Police moved the body and the injured to the district hospital. The victim was identified as Mir Muhammad, a resident of Sohbatpur district.

Four animals were also killed in the explosion.

An official of the Balochistan police’s counter-terrorism department (CTD) died of his injuries on Saturday.

ASI Abdul Rahim was injured when two IEDs went off in Harnai earlier this week. A boy lost his life while 21 others were injured in the first explosion.

As a police squad arrived at the scene, another blast rocked the place, causing injuries to two CTD officials.

Abdul Rahim, one of the wounded, was under treatment at a hospital in Loralai.
