KARACHI: In a show of solidarity, over 200 faculty members of Karachi University (KU) have sent a letter to professors of American universities and supported the ongoing students’ protests on campuses across the United States against the Israeli atrocities in Gaza.

The letter is addressed to more than 40 universities including Columbia University New York, New York University, the University of Texas, Yale University, the University of South California, George Washington University, Indiana University and Arizona University.

“You have shown that being the most educated part of the society, we have responsibility to stand up against this oppression and genocide. Your peaceful protests, occupations and advocacy for peace and justice are inspiring,” the letter applauds.

“We commend you for your courage and determination despite the heavy handedness shown by the authorities. We, the faculty of University of Karachi also demand an end to the genocide of Palestinians, end to arms supply to the Zionist regime in Israel and freedom of Palestine,” the letter reads.
