NAROWAL: A couple, a teenage girl and another woman were seriously injured on Monday when a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder exploded in the kitchen of a house in Merajpura locality of Sheikhupura.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, Humira Naeem (30), wife of Naeem Sadiq (33), was cooking in the kitchen, when the LPG cylinder exploded.

As a result, Humaira, Naeem, a 13-year-old girl Nida and a woman Tayyaba Irshad were seriously injured.

On being called, Rescue 1122 teams immediately reached the spot, provided first aid to the injured persons and shifted them to the Government Civil Hospital Sheikhupura.

According to Sheikhupura Rescue 1122 spokesperson, initial investigations show that a substandard cylinder was being used for cooking, which exploded.

He says the condition of the injured persons is said to be critical.
