ISLAMABAD: Iran’s Ambassador Dr Reza Amiri Moghaddam met Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday to discuss arrangements for the Iranian president’s upcoming visit to Pakistan.

The two officials deliberated upon the details of President Ebrahim Raisi’s visit.

The Iranian ambassador congratulated Mr Naqvi on assuming the charge of interior minister and appreciated his performance as caretaker chief minister of Punjab. Mr Naqvi said the Iranian president’s visit was “very important” in the regional context. “The visit will be a milestone in the development of bilateral relations.”

We have to work together to end the menace of terrorism and overcome other challenges, said Mr Naqvi.

He added that Pakistan-Iran relations spanned decades, and both countries value these brotherly ties.There was a need to promote cooperation for lasting peace and stability in the region, said Mr Naqvi.
