LAHORE, March 12: The mother of Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi and aunt of PML president Shujaat Husain died of cardiac failure on Sunday. She was 80.

She will be buried in Gujrat after funeral prayers at the Zahoor Elahi Stadium at 3pm on Monday (today).

She is survived by three sons and two daughters.

President and Begum Sehba Pervaiz Musharraf, Governor Khalid Maqbool, National Security Council Secretary Tariq Aziz, the Lahore corps commander, Rangers director-general, Federal Minister Ejazul Haq, provincial ministers Chaudhry Zaheeruddin, Chaudhry Shafiq, Aleem Khan, PML-N MNAs Tehmina Daultana and Pervaiz Malik, top bureaucrats and people belonging to various walks of life visited residence of the chief minister and offered their condolences over the death of his mother.

Qul of the late will be held on Tuesday (tomorrow) at 2.00pm at Zahoor Elahi House, Gujrat.

CONDOLENCE: Federal and provincial ministers, advisers and other leaders have condoled with Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi over the death of his mother.

Those who expressed condolences are federal information minister Shaikh Rashid, water and power minister Liaquat Jatoi, special assistant to the prime minister Mohammad Ali Durrani, Punjab ministers Syed Raza Ali Gilani, Naseem Lodhi, Shuja Khanzada, Gul Hameed Rokhri, Manazar Ali Ranjha, Syed Akhtar Husain, Aamir Sultan Cheema, Hasan Akhtar Moakal, Arghman Subhani, Ajmal Cheema, Sabtain Khan, Rana Shamshad, Saeed Akbar, Aslam Iqbal, Malik Mohammad Anwar, Dr Shafiq, Shaukat Ali Bhatti, Dr Tahir Ali Javed and Ijaz Shafi, Sindh labour minister Adil Siddiqui, advisers to Punjab chief minister Akhtar Rasool, Saba Sadiq, Mowahid Husain Syed, MPA Parveen Sikandar Gill, MQM chief Altaf Husain and district nazim Mian Amer.

LPC: Lahore Press Club president Arshad Ansari, secretary Nauman Yawar, office-bearers and members of the governing body have also condoled the sad demise of the mother of the chief minister.
