LAWLESSNESS: Robberies and lootings have become the order of the day in Gresha area of Balochistan. The residents live under the constant fear of some tragedy. A few days ago, some labourers were deprived of the solar system they had installed at their place, but the administration did not take any serious action. No one wants to speak about these troubling incidents, and if anyone speaks up, they are shushed. The local administration should take action.

SNATCHINGS IN KARACHI: Since the beginning of Ramazan, several lives have been lost in snatching incidents in various parts of Karachi. Do we, the Karachiites, live in a jungle, without the rule of law or the law-enforcement agencies to curb these crimes? For how many more days, months and years would we suffer at the hands of these heartless gangs of dacoits? The authorities concerned should take effective measures before it is too late.

EDUCATION ISSUES: Parom, which is located in the Panjgur district of Balochistan, has a population of approxi- mately 50,000. Regrettably, the state of education in Parom is deplorable. Among the 26 schools in the area, only two are functional, but not on a consistent basis. While education is the funda- mental right of all citizens regardless of gender, educational opportunities for girls in Parom are limited. The government should improve the system.

RAWALPINDI TRASH: One can see heaps of garbage and trash across Rawalpindi, and the problem is getting worse by the day. The relevant government agencies should pick up the trash more often and punish those who litter around. The citizens should also behave responsibly, and throw the trash in the designated bins. We must all work together to make the city clean and beautiful.
