PESHAWAR, March 10: The NWFP wing of the Pukhtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party condemned President Pervez Musharraf’s statements against the Karzai government and termed them unethical, saying that it tantamount to covering up his own failure to curb terrorism.

A press statement issued here on Friday urged Islamabad to stop what it termed blame-game and said the government’s policy could result in severing of diplomatic ties with Afghanistan.

The alarming situation in Waziristan, Bajaur and other parts of the country exposed the government’s failure to control law and order situation. It said civilians were being forced to migrate to other areas because of lack of security.

The PMAP held the military rulers responsible for the worsening law and order situation in the tribal region and called upon the government to stop what it termed propaganda against the Afghan government.

Stressing the need to take concrete steps to eliminate terrorism, the party said that peace should be restored in tribal areas.

The military government should drive out foreign elements from the country and it should stop supporting their supporters, the press release said.
