ISLAMABAD: A man was gunned down by unidentified killer(s) in capital, police said on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Ghulam Shabir, a driver by profession, a resident of Gulzar-i-Quaid, Rawlpindi, they added.

He supplied water to home in a tractor-tanker, and in this regard he came over a tube-well, located inGhauri Town Phase 1 to fill the tanker, the police said, adding that on his way back from the tube-well, some rider of a car intercepted him at Fazia Stop Expressway and fired at him.

As a result he sustained bullet injury in his chest and died on the spot, they said, adding that later the body of the deceased was shifted to hospital for further legal procedure.

Over the incident a case was registered at Khanna police station against unidentified killer(s) under section 302 of PPC in response to a complaint lodged by deceased’s brother Munir Ahmed.

The deceased was the father of six children, three daughters and three sons, the police said, adding that the motive behind the murder was not known.
