TOBA TEK SINGH: Faisalabad City Police Officer retired Capt Muhammad Ali Zia suspended the entire 123 staff of the Ghulam Muhammadabad police from service on Friday for failing to enforce kite-flying related laws.

Among them, Sub-Inspector (SI) Ibrahim was arrested for allegedly receiving bribes from suspected kite manufacturer Waseem Rehmani, against whom cases were registered under section 4 of the Dangerous Kite Flying Ordinance.

He was arrested in a case under sections 161 of the Pakistan Penal Code and 155C of the Police Order.

The suspended personnel include the station house officer, five SIs, six ASIs and 111 head constables, and constables. Also, a safety wire guard installation campaign was launched in Faisalabad to protect motorcyclists from metal kite strings. District government officials distributed safety wires among the bikers, emphasising their essential role in protection.
