BADIN: The Badin district council on Thursday passed a resolution against the “worst law and order conditions across the district and demanded posting of an honest police officer to restore rule of law on the streets.

Another resolution condemned the abduction of Priya Kumari and demanded the Sindh government ensure safe recovery of the child.

The meeting presided over by Fida Hussain Mandhro, vice chairman of the council, here the other day expressed concern over absence of police official concerned from the council’s session.

The meeting discussed the issue of water scarcity in Badin distributories, canals, filter plants, reverse osmosis plants and meagre salaries paid by NGOs to their workers in the district.

A number of councillors demanded funds for carrying out development works in their areas and exclaimed that only Rs2.5 million a year had been kept aside for each councillor to carry out works in their areas.
