MARDAN: Provincial Food Minister Zahir Shah Toru said here on Monday that establishment of just system and elimination of corruption were top priorities of the government.

He was addressing a meeting of government officials in the conference room of deputy commissioner’s office along with members of provincial assembly belonging to Mardan district.

Besides Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Fayaz Khan Sherpao, MPAs Abdul Salam Afridi, Iftikhar Ali Mashwani, Tufail Anjum, Amir Farzand Khan, Tariq Mehmood Ariani and Zarshad Khan and ADC Samiur Rehman attended the meeting.

The participants of the meeting discussed issues related to education, health, public health, tehsil municipal administration, communication and works, police, SNGPL, Pesco and other departments.

“Solving people’s problems is the most important for us. Officers should leave their offices and visit field to solve people’s problems,” the minister told the meeting. He directed officers of all departments to complete the ongoing development projects on priority basis. “Fund will be provided where it is necessary,” he added.

Some MPS also ordered probe into recruitment and ghost development schemes of many departments including health, TMAs, C&W and public health engineering.
