HYDERABAD: The vice chancellor of Shaheed Allah Buksh Soomro (SABS) University of Art, Design and Heritage, Jamshoro, on Saturday suspended the university’s deputy director of finance till completion of inquiry into charges of harassment leveled against him by a female lecturer.

According to a statement issued by the university, VC Prof Dr Arabella Bhutto formed three-member committee to probe the incident after the lecturer submitted an application against the officer at Girls Rescue Center, Jamshoro.

The committee criticised the act of making photos of the affected woman viral on social media and called it unethical to highlight a sensitive issue. The [Irresponsible] reporting in media and the viral photos had undermined privacy and personal life of the victim, it lamented.
