CHARSADDA/DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Eight persons, including four belonging to the same family, were killed and three injured in road accidents in Charsadda and Dera districts, police and rescue officials said on Friday.

Four members of a family were killed and one was injured when a truck hit their car at Charsadda’s Nesata Chowk near the Motorway toll plaza on Friday evening, police said, adding Rehanzeb along with his family was going to Peshawar in a car for medical check-up of his mother when a truck coming from the opposite direction hit his car.

As a result of the collision, Rehanzeb, his mother, two daughters, identified as three-year-old Aisha and two-year-old Mashal, were killed on the spot, while his wife got injuries. She was shifted to the District Headquarters hospital, Charsadda.

Meanwhile, four young men were killed and two others sustained serious injuries as two motorcycles collided near Mangal Mor in Kirri Shamozai area on Thursday night, a Rescue 1122 official said on Friday.

The official said six youth riding two motorcycles were coming home after offering Taraweeh prayers when their bikes collided with each other due to high speed.

As a result, four youths died on the spot, and two were seriously injured.

The deceased were identified as Habib, Rahat, Shahid and Zainullah, all residents of Kirri Shamozai.

Rescue 1122 teams rushed the injured and deceased to the District Headquarters Teaching Hospital, Dera.
