LAHORE: Punjab Minister for School Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat, has announced an increase in funding for the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) and the Punjab Education Institution Management Authority (PEIMA).

This decision, revealed during a meeting at the PEF head office, aims to empower partner schools and ensure that the students receive a superior educational experience.

Mr Hayat highlighted the importance of timely financial support, announcing that both the PEF and PEIMA would receive advance funds for a six-month period to streamline the payment process.

This initiative is expected to ensure the prompt disbursement of salaries to teachers and other staff members, thereby avoiding any delays.

A key focus of this funding boost is to increase the enrollment of out-of-school children, with the minister emphasizing the effectiveness of the public-private partnership model in achieving educational goals.

PEF Managing Director Shahid Farid also spoke.
