KARACHI: A fire which erupted in bushes travelled and reached the structure of Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) Ojha Campus near Suparco on Thursday evening that was controlled by half a dozen fire tenders after hectic efforts.

Sindh Government’s Rescue-1122 official Hassaan Khan said that the fire erupted in bushes. The official said that DUHS Ojha campus was surrounded by bushes.

Flames ostensibly because of heavy wind flew and reached the DUHS structure. Initially, some trees of date and palm caught fire, which spread to a store room of the DUHS adjacent to OPD where scrap was kept. The Rescue official said that they have sent two fire tenders but realising the gravity of the problem, four more fire tenders were called. The firemen managed to control it without any injury to human life, however cooling work continued till night.
