Two gangs of robbers busted

SHEIKHUPURA, March 8: The Nankana Sahib police have smashed two gangs of robbers and recovered from their possession valuables worth Rs4.5 million in an operation launched during the last week.

This was stated by District Police Officer Zulfiqar Hameed in a briefing to journalists here on Wednesday.

He said the eight arrested men were involved in highway robberies in the limits of Sheikhupura and Nankana districts. A special team, headed by Shahkot SHO Manzoor Shah, arrested the criminals after conducting raids at different places during the last week.

Those arrested included Pervaiz alias Pajo, Sohail, Amjad, Shahzad and Ijaz from whom the DPO had recovered sophisticated weapons, cash, mobile phones and 20 motorcycles, the DPO added.
