ISLAMABAD: Criminals disguised as officials robbed an expatriate while two houses and a shop were looted in separate incidents in the capital, police said on Thursday.

Shakoor Abbasi landed at Islamabad International Airport from Saudi Arabia and was going to his native town of Abbottabad along with his relatives when two persons riding a car and holding wireless sets intercepted them at Bhara Kahu bypass on Murree Road and introduced themselves as police officials.

The suspects searched Shakoor during which they snatched 3,000 Saudi riyals from him and escaped, the police said.

In another incident, four armed persons entered the house of Munib Shahid at D-12/1 and looted Rs18,000, Euro 150, $135, mobile phones, ornaments, edibles and other household articles.

Robbers also looted Rs600,000, gold ornaments, five mobile phones and a pistol from the house of Abdul Wali at Tarnol.

Four robbers snatched Rs10,000 from a milk shop located in Hamdani Town.
