SWABI: Two brothers killed their cousin over the ownership of a guest room in Managi village of Razaar tehsil here the other day, the police said.

Officials in the Kalu Khan police station told Dawn that Sharif Khan, a resident of Managi village, registered an FIR with them, stating that his nephews, Shiraz Khan and Arshad Khan, argued with his son, Fawad Khan, 30, for bringing his friends to a disputed guest room, and later opened fire at him, leaving him critically injured.

The complainant said that his son was taken to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries.

Meanwhile, the police claimed here the other day to have traced the killer of Farhan Khan, a member of the Pakistan Air Force football team, who was killed on March 2.

DSP Jawad Khan told Dawn that a car driven by Farman Khan had hit Farhan when he was riding a motorcycle on the Swabi-Mardan Road on the night of March 2 amid rain.

He said that after the accident, the accused had fled abroad. He said that the people of Maneri Payan, the hometown of Farhan, had staged protests against the killing.

“We have seized the car through the help of CCTV footages and traced the accused,” DSP Jawad said.

In another development, the police arrested one Ameerzeb for killing his brother four days ago over a land dispute.

SHO Tordher police station Saidul Amin said during the preliminary investigation the accused admitted that he had killed his brother inside his room. He said that he was motivated by his uncle to commit the murder.
