ISLAMABAD: A labourer was killed and two were injured after a lift of a building collapsed during repair work, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place at a multi-story marquee located in the area of Gulberg Greens, they said, adding that three staff members of an elevator company came over to the marquee to repair a lift installed in the building.

All of a sudden, the lift collapsed during the repair work, the police said, adding that as a result, the three labourers sustained injuries, and later they were shifted to a hospital, where one of them, identified as Mohammad Fahad Nadeem, 20, was pronounced dead.

The injured were identified as Shan Ali and Zeeshan Ali, they added.
