SIALKOT, March 6: A man was killed and several others, including children, sustained injuries while flying kites in the city and its outskirts late Sunday night. Mazhar Iqbal sustained injuries after falling from the roof of his house while flying a kite. He died on way to hospital.

Many children sustained injuries while catching stray kites. Aslam, Rafiq, Arsalan, Sajid, Pervaiz, Shani and Umair were admitted to hospital. A youth, Ali, suffered injury when a bullet fired by his friend hit him. His condition was stated to be critical.

Meanwhile, the Sialkot Kite Flyers Association has announced that the annual Basant gala would be celebrated on March 12.
