The Election Commission of Pakistan has released the schedule for the presidential election, which will be held on March 9 from 10am to 4pm.

According to the schedule, a copy of which is available with Dawn.com, the nomination papers are to be filed before 12pm on March 2 (tomorrow).

The scrutiny of the papers will be held at 10am on March 4 while withdrawal from candidature is allowed till 12pm on March 5.

The list of validly nominated candidates will be published at 1pm on March 5. The date of retirement for outgoing President Arif Alvi, who has been serving for an extended period, is March 6.

Polling for the president’s role will take place from 10am to 4pm on March 9 at the Parliament House and the four provincial assembly buildings.
