The election for the chief minister of Balochistan will be held on Saturday (March 2).

Newly elected Balochistan Assembly Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai announced the schedule for the leader of the house during a session of the provincial legislature.

He said candidates can submit their nomination form till 5pm Friday.

Speaking to media persons later, the speaker said he would run the house impartially and treat both treasury and opposition benches equally, state-run Association Press of Pakistan reports.

Achakzai also urged the assembly members to rise above their political affiliations and work together for the strengthening of democracy and the welfare of the people.
